Autoresponders are great, but how often have you wished that you could personalize your automatic emails more, or that you could do some of the things you’re able to do with your autoresponder with your regular emails?
Well, those problems have been solved by GMass a tool that was created by a guy named Ajay Goel after he realized that his email features were limited.
So, as a result, you can now use your Gmail account to send mass emails as a complement to your autoresponder or maybe even as a replacement if your mailing list is rather small and you don’t intend to grow it that much, or even want to save a few bucks.
What do you need to use to use GMass?
As long as you have a Gmail or Google Apps account and a Chrome browser you will be able to access GMass and start creating email campaigns just like you would with an autoresponder, but for a lower price.
But before we talk numbers let’s see what would be the benefits of getting this email feature from Google and how it could fit your needs.
A Simple App you Install
Once you have a Gmail account and a Chrome browser, which you most likely already have, you’ll be able to install GMass app and be ready to go.
Once you do, you’ll notice a few extra tabs on you Gmail interface.
On the top, to the right of your Google search field you’ll be able to see 3 square buttons named:
- Build Email List
- Google Sheets Connect
- Follow-up Campaigns
In addition, when composing an email, you’ll notice the GMass button along with a setting control.
And lastly, on the left-hand side, you’ll be able to see new Gmail labels, along with the regular ones, such as GMass Reports and GMass Schedule.
Overall those are changes that won’t affect what you are used to seeing when opening your Gmail account.
GMass instead of Autoresponder?
If you have a list of the tens of thousands to millions of subscribers, you need to know that GMass is not meant to replace your autoresponder since you can send only 2,000 emails a day to Gmail subscribers and 500 emails a day to non-Gmail subscribers.
And if you are intending to build a huge list and already have an autoresponder, do not cancel it either, because GMass wasn’t meant to replace your autoresponder, but rather to complement it.
While this tool was created for smaller lists more to the hundreds to few thousands of subscribers it allows for easy follow up with every single person that replies to your campaign and easily build a relationship with your subscribers that way.
This system allows you to send more personal emails to your subscribers by sending attachments and replies, which you’re not able to do with your typical autoresponder.
Here are some of the main features you’ll be able to enjoy by using this system.
Main GMass Features
You can add names and emails addresses directly from Google Sheets to your email.
All you have to do is make sure you add the names and emails address correctly on your spreadsheet and you’ll be good to go, able to integrate those names and email addresses into your Gmail mailing list.
Scheduling Mass Emails
There is a feature called Scheduling that allows you to schedule any of your lists to be sent at any time you want, pretty much like you would do with your autoresponder.
You can schedule, change your mind, cancel and reschedule at will as long as your emails have not gone out, and you can even use this feature for regular emails as well if we wished to do so.
The tracking features will allow you to track how many of your emails have been opened and how many links have been clicked on.
All you have to do is tick Open Tracking ON and Link Tracking ON. You can choose both or just one of the two.
With the report feature, you’ll be able to check how many people opened your email, clicked on your link, replied to your email and even how many emails bounced.
Pretty cool feature that will now have from your Gmail platform.
Send up to 10,000 Emails
Even though you can’t send an infinite number of emails as you may be able to with your regular autoresponder, you can still send up to 10,000 emails if you break that number up.
If you have a regular Gmail account, you can send up to 500 emails per rolling 24 hours, and if you have a G Suite (formerly known as Google Apps) account, you can send up to 2,000 emails per rolling 24 hours.
For example, if you have a list of 8,000 subscribers you can still send your email to all of your subscribers, but you will have to send 2,000 emails at the time from your G Suite account.
So even though it will take you 72 hours to complete your list, all 8,000 subscribers will be able to receive your email.
Of course, if you had to send a time sensitive email to that many people, you would need to keep this in mind and start early enough so everyone could receive your email on time.
You can set automatic follow-up email campaigns after an original email has been sent.
You can send up to 3 automatic follow-ups to those who have not yet responded to your email which will obviously increase your open/response rate.
You can use this feature for both mass email campaigns as well as individual emails.
You can set the automatic follow-up feature based on recipients opening or replying.
Be sure to use the feature sparingly as you do not want to flood your recipient with extra emails for no reason. This feature might not be appropriate for every campaign, so keep this in mind as it could hurt you in the long run if you abuse it.
After you’ve launched a campaign with automatic follow-ups, you can edit or cancel the auto follow-up settings as you wish.
You can also manually remove someone from the sequence of auto follow-ups at you wish as well.
3 package levels are available.
The Minimal at $6.95 per month.
With this package level, you will have a GMass footer mark at the bottom of each one your emails and the automatic follow-up feature is not included.
All other features are included.
The Standard at $8.95 per month.
The Standard doesn’t include the automatic follow-up feature either, but you won’t have the GMass footer mark at the end of your emails.
All other features are included.
The Premium at $12.95 per month.
The Premium level, of course, has everything included the follow-up feature.
GMass could be a great addition to your email campaigns and allow you to complement your autoresponder features when creating specific campaigns that could greatly benefit from the additional option that this app is offering.
If you decide to try it for a month or two, you can always cancel at any time if you decided that this is not for you.
